Today, the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement™ (TEFCA®) Recognized Coordinating Entity® (RCE®) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released the Exchange Purpose (XP) Implementation: Individual Access Services (IAS) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) version 3.0. The SOP is accompanied by new Frequently Asked Questions about the updated policy.
As a reminder, this SOP identifies specific requirements that IAS Providers are required to follow for Individual identity verification when sending an IAS Query and identifies when a QHIN, Participant, or Subparticipant is required to Respond to an IAS Query.
The RCE appreciates the several months of robust stakeholder feedback and public discourse as the Qualified Health Information Network® (QHIN™) and Participant / Subparticipant Caucuses finalized this SOP iteration.
